  1. Using a home theater HDMI to HDSDI-converter for 60 USD, is not what I would've done... Especially not with 100ft of HDMI cable in front of it. It's not made for this. As I said earlier, it should be a short HDMI-cable and a long HDSDI-cable instead. Since this converter can give you 3G-SDI (1080p59.94) if input is progressive from the camera, this will be an issue with the Decklink QUAD card. It does not support 3G-SDI, only HDSDI (1080i59.94). You have to verify your signals here. I don't think there is anything wrong with WATCHOUT in this case. I agree with Jim's additional statement above, too. /jonas
  2. Yes, you select SDI as signal input. "experiencing major stuttering and blank outs" In BMD Media Express as well in WATCHOUT? What kind of converter is used? (Brand/model etc.) Which camera? (Brand/model etc.) Do you have a SDI source, with short cable available for testing, to rule out the card as a source of failure? /jonas
  3. Raj, I'm sorry, but there are no presentation or content available for download at this time. Almost any content can be used to test with WATCHOUT, though. Please look here for training movies: http://www.dataton.com/watchout/training-movies Best Regards, Dataton Support/jonas
  4. - Yes. Do not use the WDM choice, use Decklink Video Capture instead. - Yes. - No. Not with BMD cards.
  5. -No. But you need it to verifiy that the card has a proper input into it, and at which resolution and refresh rate, before you set it in your Live Media item in WATCHOUT. - Not the right place. Yes, in your Live Media item for capture 1, 2, 3 & 4 P45, 109, 136 in the manual. - See above.
  6. I would say 100ft/ 33m is way too long for a HDMI cable. I would've used short HDMI->converter->100ft HDSDI instead. Settings in Media Express has no impact in WATCHOUT. But you need to use same setting in WATCHOUT Live Capture media. Usually 1080i59.94, sometimes 1080i29.97. /jonas
  7. Two completely separate systems and external control of both, maybe? /jonas
  8. Tried to switch out the HDMI->SDI-converter? Most likely suspect to your issues, I think. Short cables when testing always helps, of course. /jonas
  9. Maybe here? http://pjlink.jbmia.or.jp/english/data/5-1_PJLink_eng_20131210.pdf http://pjlink.jbmia.or.jp/english/ /jonas
  10. By searching the Forum for "Panasonic"and "Panasonic control", I found this: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/1249-pjlink-from-watchout-crashing-projectors/ http://forum.dataton.com/topic/491-how-to-close-a-tcp-output-connection/ http://forum.dataton.com/topic/40-pjlink-protocol/ http://forum.dataton.com/topic/815-remote-controlling-with-watchout-problems/ Hope this helps, /jonas
  11. If you're talking about a "beast" in terms of 6-output graphics cards, then AMD FirePro W9100 is it. It supports up to 6 4K-outputs with 16GB GDDR5 memory. http://www.amd.com/en-gb/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-3d/9100 The other end of the scale would be the AMD FirePro W600, mentioned by Jan above. http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-display-wall/w600 Consumer 6-output cards is non-existent, at least for now, ASUS AMD Radeon cards were almost the only choice here, but does not seem to make them anymore. All seem to rely on MST-hubs for more than 4 outputs. A 4-output server might also be a wise choice, in terms of having a bit more headroom. Always use Active MDP/DP-adapters and for safety, EDID Managers like DVI Parrot, for every output. The 6-output FirePro W9100 (or any FirePro W7/8/9 card), is NOT frame-locked without a S400 sync card added. NVidia Quadro K5200/K4200 can also be frame-locked via their GSync card. It goes without saying that consumer grade cards cannot be frame-locked. With MST-hubs you're on your own a bit, it should/might work, how reliable over time is another matter. As always, thorough testing is required, with the hardware of choice. Please see above. /jonas
  12. By searching the forum I found this: http://forum.dataton.com/topic/717-rebuild-show-file/ /jonas
  13. No, this is not possible, as of now. Sorry for the inconvenience. /jonas
  14. I'm sorry, but this is not possible, as of now. May I ask why? /jonas
  15. There is only drop-shadows possible in the text-editor of WATCHOUT, as of now. The procedure described above works, however. /jonas
  16. The way to solve this, I think, is to create your content at the selected resolution ie 480x1080/720x1080 and place it centered in your 1920x1080 displays. Yes, that's how it's supposed to work. It scales the the setting of your choice into your selected output, 1920x1080. It will not output at 480x1080 or 720x1080. Please see above. Please see above.
  17. You can only control a Display, not Production with WORrmote. /jonas
  18. No, it's not Windows 8.1, it's tweaking the system NOT properly according to our guidelines, I think. Windows 7 is still preferred/recommended for a Display PC, as mentioned above. /jonas
  19. I'm sorry, but it's not possible to convert a WATCHOUT 5 show, into a WATCHOUT 4 show. The other way around is of course no problem. /jonas
  20. Julien, please see the discussion above. This is not an WATCHOUT issue, but a hardware and setup issue. - Running WATCHOUT on a laptop as a Display computer, is a challenge. - Running WATCHOUT on a MacBook Pro, in BootCamp, is a challenge. - Adding Windows 8.1 does not help. Why? See jfk's comment above: "Been running a production laptop with such a setup (Intel / nVidia) for three years with Win 7 and no issues at all. Work with your hardware vendor to determine where your computer preparation is awry" /jonas
  21. "However, the type of image compression used by Hap is based on OpenGL technologies" http://vdmx.vidvox.net/blog/hap As WATCHOUT is DirectX/Direct3D-based, this would be an issue, right? /jonas
  22. Well, I usually stick to "don't fix what's already working", if not having any issues with a properly running system. If I start updating, I see to that I have time to fix any issues that might come from that update. My 2 cents, /jonas
  23. Yes, you're correct, it can do that, for one input, not two as the VisionSDI2 does. Per input, the cost is approx the same. Will be hard to fit 4 of those in a chassie, though...which was the question at hand here. It's preliminary tested, but 4K input from this card does not work yet with WATCHOUT, as of now. We are looking into this, it should be possible. Stay tuned. /jonas DeckLink 4K Extreme Technical Specifications HD Format Support 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, 1080PsF23.98, 1080p23.98, 1080PsF24, 1080p24, 1080PsF25, 1080p25, 1080PsF29.97, 1080p29.97, 1080PsF30, 1080p30, 1080i50, 1080p50, 1080i59.94, 1080p59.94, 1080i60, and 1080p60. 2K Format Support 2048 x 1556PsF23.98, 2048 x 1556PsF24, 2048 x 1556PsF25, 2048 x 1556p23.98, 2048 x 1556p24, 2048 x 1556p25 and 2048 x 1080p23.98, 2048 x 1080p24, 2048 x 1080p25. 4K Format Support 3840x2160p23.98, 3840x2160p24, 3840x2160p25, 3840x2160p29.97, 3840x2160p30, 4096x2160p23.98, 4096x2160p24, 4096x2160p25, 4096x2160p29.97, 4096 x 2160p30.
